Grind: #16 espresso · 19g in to 47g out at 23 seconds
First pull on Monarch. Grind was 11. Way too fine. Pull took 44 seconds to get to 47g. First sip at this ratio is darker but not bitter like pure Italian roast have been. Moving grind size up should produce better results.
I've tightened this brew up now. Grind size is 16 and I'm pulling at 23 seconds. Which seems extreme but the shots are pretty rich and bold. This coffee is surprising!
Katie doesn't love this espresso. On to the next.
